I haven't made a Kabuto thread in a while, so I decided to make one on why I think Kabuto is such a magnificent character.
The reason is actually very simple. He, unlike any other villain in the manga or any other villain that I can recall, he merely wants attention. Love. Someone to notice him. For all of the power he amassed

he was deeply, deeply hurting the entire time.
He thought that taking power would heal his pain, but that didn't really work out.
After fighting/debating Itachi (and Sasuke) for some time, he finally revealed the true reason for why he's doing what he's doing.
His connection to his glasses is beautiful symbolism. I remember him getting really angry when the Sound Ninja broke his glasses way back in part 1, and the fact that he never once let the glasses go no matter how powerful he got shows that they were really the only item he had to give him an identity.

He was a born genius
He accomplished many things at a young age for the village
He could see through people and used what he learnt in battle - from kabuto's own mouth
He was a loyal shinohi but he was also a caring brother
whereas kqbuto back story is hastily written and generic, "boohoo I don't have parents I will become a villian", give me a break Lol

I do too. Contrary to what some people may think, I like Itachi, and that's one of the reasons. He could have killed Kabuto at the end, but he didn't. He chose to save him from his path of self-destruction.

What makes it even more special, is that Kabuto may just be the one who saves the person who meant the most in the world to Itachi. It's all coming full circle. ^-^

Funny how the Itachi fanboys clear out after that comment. Such shallow people.
Anyway, that's one of the reasons I thought it would be Kabuto. He could repay his debt to Itachi. But the body image doesn't match up U_U
