Okay Y i think Jiraiya owns Itachi..

First we look at itachi's Jutsu's

~Amateratsu
~Finger Genjustu (or other none eye contact jutsu's)
~Tsukuyomi
~Susano :-
1.Totsuka blade
2.Yata Mirror
~rest all are fodders and can be evaded with ease.!!

Counters :-

- Amateratsu can be turned against itachi ..
with the help of Hari Jizō Jiraiya can cover himself in hair..

and shoot Senpō: Kebari Senbon then there will be amateratsu needles flying towards itachi...

- The totsuka blade isn't touching an unlimited sage mode user..
niether the yata is helping... jiraiya can just wait till itachi is at his limits..or summon the food cart on the susano..

According to me ... :- Jiraiya can evade the genjutsu..
-- First for the eye contact jutsu's such as tsukuyomi...he won't look in itachi's eyes... (LOL)
-- Second for the non eye contact jutsu's such as finger genjutsu..

~ Jiraiya has once told naruto in his training that genjutsu's can be evaded by distrupting the flow of chakra in ur body.. ..

for eg :- when itachi used the Finger Genjutsu to naruto.... chiyo and sakura forced chakra inside naruto thus distrupting the flow of chakra ..therefore he got out of it!!

~now wat im trying to say is Sage mode undertakes the same process ..it collects nature energy from outside ..in ur body ...with some force ... that force increases the heart beat ratio, muscles, and sensing.(i guess). to turn into sage mode.!!

Necro is right, unlike Naruto Jiraiya needed the toads to go into sage mode, which takes time that he doesn't have in a fight against itachi
