Why Itachi never used water element against Sasuke

because he knew sasuke was good at chidori . .and he knew if somehow sasuke manages escape from suiton and charges chidori on water then the jutsu would go in favor of sasuke not itachi thats y

Ya it is true but Itachi was suffering from Illness, and to use water element+MS in a fight against Sasuke can consume a lot of chakra, and when he visited Konoha he was in far better condition, that's why..
