[Discussion] Why it is obvious Sasuke was never meant to be the main villian?

In Shipuuden Sasuke by far has had the most potential to be the main villain of the series. This doesn't mean he is the strongest villain, but as Sasuke snowballed down the road of darkness he had the strongest motivation and the most untapped potential of all NV villians. Obito was even planning on syncing Sasuke with the Gedo Mazou, that means giving him Senju DNA which would not only have increased his power, but also given him potential to get the Rinnengan. With all these flags Sasuke was a shoe in to become the main villain of the series, but honestly it was obvious that he was eventually going to change sides and this is why.
1. People Sasuke has killed- Orochimaru, Deidara, and Danzou with the exception of a few fodder samurai all of the people Sasuke has killed are evil and would have been a major problem if left alone
2. He didn't kill any key people. The fact that Sasuke is always interrupted or fails to kill any key characters on the side of good.
3. Even when he was evil, second to Naruto, Sasuke has been one of the most helpful figures in this war
He killed Danzou who could have very well defected to work with Kabuto and seeing how some of the most powerful shinbi in the leaf reside in Root this would have been a BIG problem
He killed the original white Zetsu ceasing their aid in the war as a mass produced army
He aided in the release of Edo Tensei; by this point everyone should know that Kishi's role for Sasuke was to aid in the war, the SA would not have even been able to go support Naruto if it weren't for Sasuke's help
Lastly, he brought the Kages to the battlefield as reinforcements when the SA was about to be road killed by a BD.
It doesn't take a genius to see that Kishi is setting up Sasuke along with Naruto and Sakura as the heroes of this war especially when Naruto eventually reveals Sasuke's past to the people of Konoha.:scorps:
I don't know whether Sasuke will be the next hokage seeing how he doesn't have the following Naruto does, but I don't think he was ever meant to be a main villain.

It doesn't matter, his existence in this manga from chapter 400-490 is worthless anyways. Didn't mean a thing, and his entire plot line for those arcs might as well be trashed.

I knew he wasn't going to be a villain, which is why I understood his entire motivation for destroying Konoha to be petty and retarded.

If anybody bought into Sasuke as final villain, it's their fault.

Well technically he didn't kill Deidara OR Orochimaru. But that's not the point and it doesn't matter. I honestly think that Sasuke needs to just die.

I agree. I must admit, I began to like Sasuke ever since he became good.

One possible outcome though could be that Naruto and Sasuke would like have a battle-to-the-death for the title of Hokage. And WHO KNOWS? Maybe Sakura will join in that fight for the title of Hokage. Just saying...

I agree with what you where saying about seeing Sasuke come back to the good side. It was so obvious and so many people have called it since forever. Some people hate it and I understand that I mean what was the point of like 80 or more chapters or like 2 plus years of plot to just be thrown away. But I cant say that im shocked me and many others called it.

I wished he was the main villain, but it's obvious he wasn't. There were way too many people with strong motives as well. I think Naruto is fine the way it is, I literally have little to no complaints. People need to grow up and stop whining.
