Why is there no Glass jutsu?

Okay this was bugging me as soon as i saw Garra in the Anime.

If someone has awesome sand jutsu like he does, why would they not learn awesome fire moves so that they can use glass jutsu, or at least team up with someone who has awesome fire jutsu.

Wouldn't that be heaps awesome, making glass blades and showers of glass.

There is probably a good reason, but i dont know of any, let me know what you think.

maybe but i dont think glass is the type of jutsu u can just combine with sand and fire haha im guessing that the ability to put those 2 together would be massiv so thatd be why kishi isnt bothered with making new jutsus like that

If your talking about why Gaara never does this in the anime/manga, sand probably doesn't transform into glass that easily as seen when Gaara used his sand to block Amaterasu.

Yeah i was thinking it wouldn't always be tactically viable, but it would be pretty awesome in some situations, like really really sharp weapons.

Also if you wanted to take it too far, and i mean way to far, you could make lenses with it to manipulate the suns rays to use light/radiation justsu!

Yeah plus from my understanding glass is made with lots and lots of heat, plus careful balance of a certain type of sand and oxygen

Gaara would be pretty good with it. Glass is basically melted sand. Katon + Sand = Molten Glass.

i spent a weekend at a friends workplace, and he is a glassblower, its actually pretty complex to get good glass

Because glass doesn't suit Gaara's character. Think about it, Gaara whole battle style is built on the fact he has the ultimate defence. Glass is like the opposite of an ultimate defence it is brittle and easily broken.Sure glass could cut people but so can shuriken.
