Gaara was at advantage since he was fighting in a desert and he still lost. Besides Deidara wasn't even fighting to kill Gaara, he needed him alive. He is weaker than Deidara by a long shot.

When Suna was first introduced during the chunin exam they really looked powerful. No one thought Gaara could be defeated and he soloed the chunin exam without breaking a sweat. So why is Suna so weak now?

Keep in mind that the 4th Kazekage got owned by Oro without even giving a fight.
The 3rd Kazekage got fodderized by Sasori.
Then, during the konoha invasion in part 1, we've seen some suna ninjas getting fodderized by Konoha's
At the very beginning of Shippuden, we learned that Gaara became the 5th Kazekage.... then Deidara made him his bitch during their fight. I mean, Gaara was in a desert and still lost to one of the weakest akatsuki member.
Besides, Gaara is only 15, why would he be Kazekage at this age, he's indeed strong but he lacks battle experience.
Not to mention Shuaku is the weakest Bijuu, even Hashirama didn't like Suna, why would he give the weakest Bijuu to the weakest village?

To end this, Sunagakure doesn't really have any strong clan or whatsoever. So I definitely think it's one of the weakest village out of the 5 major ones

gaaras the 4th kazekage and if you gave the strongest bijuu to the weakest village they wouldnt be able to control it.

You fail just for comparing a manga to real life.
Just for your information villains in this manga can lose limbs and not give a f*ck. He lost an arm and didn't seem to panic about it. He didn't suffer from blood loss either. He got it reattached later by Kakuzu so it does not make a bit of difference.
On the other hand, Gaara got a C1 bomb explode in his face and got instantly KO'd and captured. I wonder what is getting owned if that isn't.

lol bull**** you seem to forget that you just saw a few people from suna, if they had no people fighting the shinobi alliance wouldnt had assign gaara as their leading general and if they were that weak i dont understand why konoha had that much trouble against them in war. Hashirama also gave the tailed beasts to BALANCE the powers among them you know the meaning of balance dont you?

Kishimoto just couldnt show the full potential and all his ideas from the start so nobody lost interest in naruto and kept the wow effects you had almost every episode...thats the great about naruto so why complaining about sunas weakness , enjoy that they are involved
