just look at what sharingan can do:

• copying jutsu
• pre-cog
• genjutsu & countering genjutsu (hebi sasuke supressed kurama with his 3t sharingan)
• u can even look into the victim's memory

and don't even get me started on mangekyou sharin...oh well:

• Tsukuyomi (that one put kakashi weeks in hospital)
• Amaterasu (flame that can't be extinguished)
• Kotoamatsukami (unstoppable/uncounterable genjutsu)
• Kamui (one of the most op/hex tech in NV)
• Susanoo (strongest defense)
• Izanagi
• Izanami

#1 The sharingan comes at a cost to many uchiha who overuse it. Only the Mangekyo Sharingan can do most of the stuff you just mentioned. Byakugan seemingly doesn't come with the same repercussions.
#2 There were two sharingan from the hidden leaf at the time when people said the Hyuuga were the strongest in the leaf.
#3 Who even made this a debate? no one questions the OP'ness of the Sharingan as the strongest dojustu, but thats also mainly because of the ones who used it the best. It was always said that the Uchiha were the strongest besides the Senju.
