Sasuke's character development was a bit inconsistent at times, and it seemed like Kishi forced Sasuke to make irrational or contradictory decisions purely to continue pitting him against Naruto ideologically. To me, Sasuke was not a very likable character from the end of Part 1 until the War Arc. However, I actually thought that his "answer" was handled well, even though it was still misguided.
