The highly proficient medic ninja would know a thing or two about who's using drugs and steroids. Prodigies don't need drugs or steroids to become good. So no, Kirin was not of Sasuke's own skill. Orochimaru's drugs propelled him.

sasuke managed to hit the blindspots itachi hit as a child and giant fireball jutsu

itachi could do those things and make them look easy

the only thing sasuke does wrong is show is low tolerance for pain (he cant hide his pain well)

and is overly emotional or lacks emotion in situations he manages to escape in.

sasuke trains a lot more to achieve a level other geniuses are on , but he still reaches them close enough.

and Sasuke's eyes have been said to be more keen than Itachi's.

However Itachi was still wanted for his prowess.

OT: You and I must have been reading completely different mangas if you honestly believe Sasuke couldn't beat Naruto in Part 1. If I recall correctly, Sasuke was whooping Kyubi enhanced Naruto's(that's the Naruto with the Kyubi's eyes before he reaches One-tailed mode) behind all over the final valley with a three tomoe Sharingan. You seriously might want to start reading Naruto all over again, or brush up on your memories. Both Sasuke and Lee are geniuses in their respective fields.

This is where Naruto proves he's really worth something. He has 1 chakra nature, rasengan variations, shadow clones, sage mode, toad summons, and he's even tamed the Kyuubi. He's easily top 5 in nv, making him powerful.
