Why is revenge acceptable for Shikamaru and Team Asuma

Didn't Sasuke get revenge? At first he thought Itachi was the enemy, he got revenge but didn't realize the bigger picture. Then he got revenge again this time against Danzo. But now for some odd reason he thinks killing kages from different villages would solve his problem.
-Plus destroying a whole village, is basically killing the innocent. None of those people deserve death. It was only Danzo, maybe the 2 elders and the whole Uchiha clan that brought what happened on themselves.
As for Naruto he realized all revenge would do is cause more hatred and more revenge. Something Sasuke has yet to realize himself.
So to answer your question Sasuke has got his revenge. And Naruto doesn't want revenge at all.

Team Asuma's revenge came before the Pein Invasion arc, one of the themes of which was the futility of vengeance (it only fuels the cycle of hatred and violence.)

Its because Sasuke doesn't care who he kills or what he destroys to do it. His goal isn't to defend something, but instead, to burn everything to the ground. Naruto wasn't permitted to get revenge because he was the Akatsuki's goal and he would have gotten foddered. Shikamaru is just a boss, that's why he was able to.

Because Kakuzu and Hidan were going to be hunted down anyway. What better team to do it than the one who benefits most from it?
Sasuke is restricted, because it's unreasonable.
Naruto is restricted because he can't control his emotions.

He wanted revenge for Jiraiya's death against Pain.
I find it funny how Naruto's revenge for his master is acceptable but when Sasuke claims revenge for Itachi pertaining to his clan then it's a bad thing.
Well for one, The akatsuki are a group of criminals that are already wanted. Even if they didnt kill Asuma they'd still be hunted dow .
Sasuke's revenge is different. He went to the extreme. He abandoned his village (before he knew about Itachi working with them) and joined with an S class criminal. Making him a criminal as well.
Team Asumas went after a criminal organization, yes it was mainly for revenge, but they went about it the smart way.
Sasuke abandoned his village, joined Oro, aligned with akatsuki, invaded another country, "captured" its jinchuruki, killed numerous people, attacked the Kage summit and more.
His revenge went out of hand.
