Why is Obito angry with Minato now?

Okay, I'll allow you that. He marked Obito when he was fighting the masked man, but I still think it qualifies as a plot hole. Kushina gets to be marked by FTG, but not Obito. Why? The Fourth allows seemed like a very caring person to me. Someone who wouldn't let his comrades die easily. Why did he not mark Obito when he was a student?

FYI he never marked kakashi or rin. He had given his kunai as a gift to kakashi. Thats the only reason he could reach to kakashi so fast. Read chapter 244.

Obito was already covered with rocks when kakashi was fighting in the collapsing cave against Iwagakure Ninjas. By the time Minato reached them, cave had collapsed.

Also one more person whom we know was marked was Killer Bee when Minato fought with A and B.

Kushina was marked for the reason i believe to cater to her needs instantly. (his marking was engraved into Kushina's seal)

I think for minato, kushina was more precious than anybody else which i believe anybody would do the same for their wives when compared to anybody known to them.

I doubt he'll mark his students, that will be kinda wierd and it brings up privacy issues, Kushina was his wife so it made sense with her.

People are actually bashing Minato because he didn't try to dig up Obito to make sure he was dead? That's ridiculous. Obito could not have survived the cave-in under normal circumstances. You don't live after having your entire body crushed by several tons of solid rock. The only reason Obito survived is because Kishi used Plot No Jutsu to have Kamui activate despite the fact that he hadn't awakened the MS.

Just because, Kakashi, obito and Rin are his students, it doesn't mean he can just put all his markings n tattoos on them.. its bullshit.. they are a well trained shinobi.. kushina is not so well trained.. and she is pregnant dat time.. and there was danger from ninetails all the time.. so she is marked..

and he expected a team work from kakashi, obito and rin.. so that they can save them.. kushina is alone.. still minato gave a marked kunai to kakashi as a backup plan..
instead of staying as a team.. they separated... by the time, minato teleported.. kakashi was alone.. n obito is long gone..
n marked is not a legal/moral.. in case you have fight with your student in exam/or war.. then minato has an advantage over his student all the time..

OP: When Obito was in his cave and heard that Kakashi and Rin were being chased by Mist ninjas, he asked what Minato was even doing while he was on his way there and getting details from zetsu. I think that he partly blames Minato for not being there for his students, the same way he blames Kakashi for failing to protect Rin (even though he says he doesn't care).

Because the Fourth failed to teleport over to Obito whom he had marked to confirm if he was dead, creating the biggest plot hole in the series. Seriously, literally all of the events of the entire series could have been avoided if the Fourth had just teleported to Obito.

Obito is the plot hole not the fourth.
