I thought that too, am I am not disagreeing, but the Uzumaki Clan and their entire island was wiped out for fear of the power that they held. This along with Namikaze not being a well known sir name, except from Minato leads me to believe that even if his name was Naruto Kamikaze, he would have had the same protection.

I only bring this up because I have thought about this same issue before, and this is where my ideas led.

Side note, Naruto Uzumaki has a better ring to it than Naruto Kamikaze, but maybe i am just bias.

This^^

Uzumaki carries way more danger behind it than namikaze. Sure minato may have had enimeis but nothing compared to having an entire clan destroyed out of fear. So saying it was to protect naruto from minatos enimeis isn't a solid reason. Personally I think kishi did it to keep readers from instantly guessing that minato was his dad.

Good question. I do not know Kish deceit this. But it does not make sense, because the Uzumaki were fear in the world. This is the reason why their village was destroyed.

This, loved the sound of it, even though it was a typo...

Minato did it so he wouldn't be a target for other villages, Since he's the hokages son.

So being from the feared uzumaki clan that was wiped out makes him less of a target? That's not a solid reason.

I'm pretty sure its just to keep the readers from guessing who narutos dad was early on.

It was to protect him, but I always wonder what clan does his father come from?

Truth be told, it's actually a retcon, Naruto's father was meant to be the yet unnamed Uzumaki Fourth Hokage, but Shippuden retconned this and gave the surname and the clan's trademark and attributes to the mother instead.

Uzumaki sounds a lot cooler
Also, Kishimoto seems to like spirals

I wondered about this as well. Especially since the known uzumaki's were targeted by powerful ppl/countries.
Naming him uzumaki still puts him at risk. Seeing as how the uzumaki were hunted for their power.

Proof please? You've been known to be incorrect before.
