Why is Itachi always compared to the Top Tiers?

bro itachi can't beat jiraiya for alot of reasons, and no way itachi can beat minato no way in hell. sorry i hate fanboyish talk and the fanboys who make itachi (great character) look like shit with their crazy talk U_U

J-man uses shadow-clones, so no...Although he can win but Amaterasu, just NO...
Minato uses FTG, so no Itachi can't land hits that easily to win 2-3 secs...

I don't really see how you fans can compare Itachi to the all-time greats. He just does not have enough power. In my opinion the Top Tier characters are:
Nagato
Tobi
Naruto
Hiruzen Prime
Madara
Hashirama
Minato(borderline)
Kabuto(without edo borderline)
Itachi just cannot defeat any of the characters listed above. Also Itachi never defeated any character of significance without a decent amount of help, along with his poor stamina I don't really see how he can make top tier.

nagato: sealed nagato, and outclassed him prior to doing so, was revived with nagato too implying they were on the same level
Tobi: was bossed by itachi at age 13, didnt start war till itachi died, called him weak, pathetic, and a loser, can hit tobi, smarter than tobi
naruto: would get outsmarted, or put under genjutsu, dnt say he's a jinchuriki because the mizukage was controlled
hiruzen: primarily a ninjutsu user w/ hand seals, will get uchiha'd like orochimaru does every time, hiruzen and ori are = and itachi one shot him 2x.
madara: destroys itachi due being itachi w/ more violent techniques ...however, weapons make it a fight, itachi is smarter but madara has battle experience over itachi
hashirama:wins via bringer of darkness, but every jutsu has a weakness and i dnt see itachi just getting hit when he never has
minato: has 3 moves lol itachi has been hit so many times and its ALWAYS a clone...explosive clone=win
kabuto= was body bagged itachi needed no help....theres a reason he told itachi if you kill me edo will go forever........he didnt want itachi to kill him lol

whether or not you like him he is top ten ninja any one would have a tough time beating itachi specially if he was healthy just with sussanoo and yata mirror not counting any other of his jutsu most ninja could beat him. i am not a big fan of his by any means but he is very smart,calm in battle ,and has some very powerful jutsus.
also he stomps minato only thing minato could do is maybe run from him he has no way of beating him in a fight. minato has shown toad summons ftg and rasengan he hasnt even shown an element that i am aware of and his resangan was crap next to narutos so what would he do to beat itachi?

guess if you attack someone not straight up ur less of a fighter, as far as im concerned gedo can be sealed, naruto and bee were the reason nagato was even allowed to do CTB, nagato is vulnerable to genjutsu, he is crippled but has never been one to fight mobile anyway
Itachi can stand up to Kabuto, most likely beat Minato and also Hiruzen in his prime, at least without more knowledge about his power level then. Tobi, Madara, Nagato, Hashirama and Naruto are however stronger.
