Why is it that the Anbu Black Ops are utterly useless

I thought that the Anbu Black Ops where meant to be very powerful ninja body guard types but all they seem to do is just get killed and owned by basically anyone . Excluding former member's kakashi , itachi and yamato All The anbu black ops do is die and fail to protect anyone I swear aren't they meant to protect people But they don't there meant to be like a jonin or chunin when really there like a genin I swear Biggest mistake Kishi Made was the Anbu black ops Itd be great to see them take down and enemy or 2 even if its just a weak 1 but they aren't capable of anything . Its like anyone can join regardless if you can actually use ninjusu or not And its always like 3 anbu black ops getting taken out by 1 rouge ninja who just basically slapped them around ?

No you are wrong. Few were watching, primarily Hiruzen's guards. The rest was battling the invaders.

And the reason why in the Anime the ANBU are seen getting pawned is to show the enemies' power, instead of fighting a main character and getting them killed

Kabuto and chunnin Gaara throwing them around. During the pain invasion is their only sign of life and even then only 3 of them....

Exactly my thoughts dude...! They are easily pawned like fodder ninja. Initially in the series I was thrilled by ANBU but not now.
