No need to bring up the killings. In the recent past, Blacks generally are on guard against racism and stereotyping. This doesn't make them racist, it just shows they are more defensive on the matter than a typical white person would be. It makes perfect sense, considering a large portion of white America is still somewhat racist.

Don't know if this relates, but today I got called racist for liking Eminem when all my roommates were talking about their favorite rappers (all of who picked Jay Z). Some white girl that said my opinion shouldn't matter because I'll side with Eminem.

College has been a strange experience for me so far.

Just tell them it's your opinion. They won't bother you about it then. Usually in the culture, the people that say Eminem is the GOAT are people who haven't listened to a handful of better artists. Delve into the discography of some of the others in that GOAT conversation. Like Big L, Biggie, Tupac, Rakim, Nas, Etc. Don't take it to heart my mans. Hip Hop is all about who you relate to. If you listen to all these guys and think Eminem is still the GOAT, more power to you.
