Why is it OK for American Comics like Superman to lasts forever but Naruto isn't?

Like everyone said, there are different universes. That's how characters get killed off and return, like Captain America. Manga has basically a beginning, a middle, and a end. All the arcs fit into an overall story. In comics there are arcs, but no set story.

Naruto had the makings of being a top franchise that could have told Different stories, but King is right on this one, if Kishi agrees that another author could write stories of past Kages, Hardcore fanboy would certainly say its not canon and act like it doesn't exist.

lol. Ironically enough those people would still read/watch if the series continued with someone else. As longs as the quality is still good and the story isn't contradictory, I'm fine with a new writer. Although a lot of writers/producers/etc. who take over an existing series turn the series into something it wasn't originally, so I can understand people's concern.

GT was badass. Hell people like hating on GT.. but then don't even look at Dragonballz........ I mean dude have you seen "Battle of gods"? rofl.... I'd watch GT over that. Akira APPROVED GT. Whether he was the writer or not had no relevence to it being cannon or not. It was him who gave away the copyrights for his series to other people, so they can write it more.... Thats why i never got this whole BS about "gt isn't cannon, Gt if fan-fiction"...

And alot of people still watch Dragonball GT, because it had epic ass fights.

Because comic book characters have multiple writers while Naruto has one.If Kishi decided to end it which he has then the series is done while comics can and do continue even after the original writer had stopped.

@bold: That is true, but it being none canon was not the only reason it sucked. The story was too much focused on Goku and the villains were too powerful that the other side characters never really got to shine all that much. Worst of all seeing a character like Vegeta getting man handled by Super 17. Like I don't know I never got the same satisfaction I got when DBZ ended.

The only thing GT had over DBZ for me was the better character designs. Super Sayain 4 Goku looks 100 times better than Super Sayain God Goku. Goku actually goes through a half monkey state in this form and it makes far more sense than even the original Super Sayain form. Other than that the story lacked something.

I feel the same way. Specially Super 17, This guy being more powerful than Cell has a special spot for me. It sucks how GT characters probably won't be in games anymore. I preferred to play as them over the DBZ characters.

I know I did, and while typing that I was thinking the same. Thankfully Naruto has plot on it's side and unique abilities. Other wise it would have gone the same route as DBGT. Naruto is proof that even if your the original Arthur of a story. It does not always mean things will always stay great. Some where down the line the story will sink.

A team helps create and keep it going with the added versions of multiple universes and side stories that creates almost an infinte loop of possibilities. (there are 1000 different supermans.lol)

Mangas like Naruto can easily do the same (chojis side of the story, jman past story, Ninja war 1, ninja war 2 stories etc etc), but no one wants to put in the work it would seem.
