Why is it OK for American Comics like Superman to lasts forever but Naruto isn't?

That's because Superman did not have a decent story to follow. Where as Naruto has one? I would not want Naruto to go on forever and get the Pokemon treatment.

Comics, from what I here, just keep creating different universes for their hero's and basically they make up new story lines for the hero's in the different universes. That's why there are so many damn versions of superman.

Because DC owns that comic and they can hire different writes and cartoonists who can make newer iterations of the comic. They have compete control over the story and they can do whatever they want to. Manga's like Naruto are written by one writer like Kishi, and he can't keep doing the same thing forever. unless he patches the torch Naruto will be done.

You speak as if there's a law that demands Japanese comics to be discontinued after a set time period. Superman is a part of DC comics, which has been around for a while, and regardless of generations to come and go, there will always a group of people to continue it. Manga is up to the author when it ends, they won't draw/write forever.

Naruto = set plot, based on a main character(s), and has an overall plot that connects. It has a beggining and an end.


Comics = set plots + random plots, can be based on a group and etc. Is not really that serious, compared to the manga. And of course the characters can rewritten.

Major difference: Characters in comics belong to the company, not a sole writer.


But lets say, Naruto gets done by other writer....... That other writer will have no value.... why? Because of the mindset of manga fanboys, that the original writer is the only one that can be cannon.

Heroes in spandex > Heroes in normal clothes Lol. Naruto will live on but the difference between American comics and Manga is that only one author writes the mangas like Naruto while multiple writer will always be telling a Superman story and mangas have endings comics don't.

Well for one there are multiple universes, so a story can go on forever...so different origin stories and what ifs.
2nd the villains never truly die, so the purpose of the hero doesn't die out.
Actual character development means deeper connection and hundreds of possibilities can unfold
And different writers all together

american comics dont follow the same story line. there are always changes to the character. sometimes they have more or less powers, or they have different personalities. anyways, basically they have alternate universe type of things. so every superman can't be considered canon for the entire superman franchise that has every existed. where as manga has a conon story line that goes all the way through.

In my opinion, MAnga would be better were it not for the hardcore manga fanboys, who try to put out manga as the sole "cannon" or only thing for debates....


While for comics, form what i have experienced there aren't people who trip about "cannon vs non-cannon". Its just both are there in alt-universes.
