Yes this is about tobi. But it's like everyone has just accepted that the reason for the mask is to hide his identity. But what if that is not the case?
Almost his entire body has been kept hidden. He even wears gloves. Also he just rips of his arm in this battle,
after it was infected with the nano-bugs, however, this white substance mixed with blood was also seen earlier,
where he was convincing kisame that he's madara. His face, however, seems to be "normal":
So now I made some arguments proving that his body is not normal.
So for the mask. Why is he wearing it? The kages said that by using the name "madara" he could draw the attention from the entire shinobi world, which could be the reason for the mask. But with 7 tailed beasts and 100.000 zetsus, and later even kabuto with his edo tenseis, the man would not need any name to draw attention. Also gaara said he wanted the war to lure out bee and naruto, but with that army, him being madara or not they would still come out.
Lets assume it's a normal arm. Could it be possible that he was doing some sort of the same research as orochimarou, and that he is able to change bodies. He has all these sharingans, which he obviously used on the ressurected jinchuurikis, but that only means he has found the one he wanted for himself. Also he helped itachi with the massacre. As I see it, it could very well be possible that he has stashed up some bodies from the uchiha incident. Most likely he was in contact with madara, and has also been using his body, meaning he could look just like him, but that would make the mask stupid. Unless he's actually changing "bodies" or just faces in sort of the same way as oro did. This way he could keep his prime body, and always be at his strongest, as well as achieving eternal life to make his plan come through. If he often changes face or body that would explain why he's wearing a mask, also it could very well be that he has some bodies from the uchihas he killed during the massacre, which explains how well they work with his sharingan etc. Also tobi has been wondering how much orochimarou knew about his own research, given that they might have been doing the same, but he started before oro.
