Why is everyone saying manga is going downhill?

I wouldn't say that is the best example or way to look at it. There are and has been sub par(non play off) teams in the NBA and NFL that have sold out arenas, doesnt mean they are as good as when they made play offs in previous or future years. When you are a fan of something in particular you tune in weather its good or bad. Like a lot of people here, myself included, feel Naruto is going downhill or is shit now but we still read the manga.

usually when i watch a youtube video it has a lot of likes and barely any dislikes but in the comments there are a shitload of people talking shit about the video,you'd think there'd be more dislikes than likes
that's how i see it with naruto

This will be a long post...
As for why I say the manga has gone down hill is because of 1 obvious reason imo, and that is poor planning. It all started when Madara was summoned as an Edo. While that was incredible at the time, for the future it made things complicated due to him and Obito sharing the same goal/role in the manga. I don't think Kishi planned that far ahead. Madara as an Edo casually destroyed the 5 Kages so at that point there was no one stronger than him individually, while the second strongest was Obito. These two were already far above everyone else so Kishi introduced Hashi, Tobirama, Minato, and Hiruzen to help stop Obito, Madara, and the Juubi. That was overkill in my eyes favoring the Alliance so Kishi had to give someone a power up but he gave it to the wrong person...This is where things went downhill fast. Once Obito was Juubi Jin and we seen how strong he was then it was obvious Madara would be far stronger once he became the Jin. The only way for Kishi to alleviate this problem was to give Naruto and Sasuke power ups, but in doing so he showed us someone potentially stronger than Juubi Madara and that was Kaguya. Once Kaguya was introduced it threw things even more out of loop and the BS grew. Due to the poor planning of Kishi he made Obito a Juubi Jin and Kaguya final villain, both things that hurt the story. The only Juubi Jin and final villain should have been Madara. That would have prevented a lot of the mangas down falls in my opinion.

Not necessarily. I may not know how to cook but when I eat bad food I will criticize it.

OT: The manga went downhill a looong time ago. Kishi has been hyping Kaguya since forever only to produce a disappointment of a villain that looks like an insane/possessed/child-like person that does things for no motive or reason (and this is just one of the reasons).

Thats how it is on anything popular tho. People that like the video dont comment as much but people that dislike the video feel the need to tell them why the video or topic is bad. You get mixed results in the end anyways. Go on a Kobe Bryant video you will see plenty of likes yet a lot of the comments will be geared towards him not being that good and focus on the negatives, and in those same comments you will see people saying Lebron is better. This is common in almost anything popular that competes in some form by the fan bases. A lot of the negative comments on a Naruto video will be from One Piece or HxH fans saying how their manga is better. The dislikes feel the need to try and convince others why its bad more than the likers needing to convince others its good.

So yeah these past arcs were shit
After nagato died manga started its decline

It's because of the anticlimatic final. People could identify with madara, people got excited with his plans... his bloodlust. The action. Kaguya was meh to me. Very anticlimatic of course she cried, but when sasuse and naruto were forced to lay on the ground due to exhaustion? There was no power of friends powerup while fighting like Son Goku getting new power up / more power up. They just got hago powers and a plan. The whole fight was dodging ashe bones and swift to dimensions, without backround.

You didn't miss anything, the manga is great. It's like everywhere in life, there are always people who like to whine and complain and generally have a "it was all better back in the day"-view on the world. These people are especially present on internet boards as this one. Don't think the people complaining around here are representative for all manga/anime readers/viewers.

That's not the reason for people complaining though. People have been lamenting about the series going downhill since years. There are those that say the whole war is stupid, ones that claim everything after Pain was bad or the people that even think Part 2 in general is sh*t.

Please enlighten me aswell because so far the manga is going uphill for me.

Naruto vs Pain was the most epic battle ever.

The war arc was pretty interesting, all the previous enemies coming back to life was pretty cool. Kishi drew it and wrote it so well that i actually felt the struggle of war, despite being a world where walking on water is a thing little children can do.

Kaguya was a bit too cut of short though, they should've made a back story for her, and add a little bit more about her character. Also, for a "goddess", she should of had billions of jutsu like elemental jutsu aswell. However this was so far one of the only few flaws from one of the greatest manga out there.

The part that really had me going was when Sasuke and Naruto were about to die, that really proved that despite being extremely powerful, they were still human.

So far the only little error was how quick the Kaguya arc ended.

Basically all of this. i seriously think hashirama might be stronger than juubito,
i mean seriously the dude lost to 50% kurama and weaker version of susanoo than madara.

Juudara got hyped so much with his double rinnegan and was shat on 1 chapter after.
Kaguya the "strongest" villain ever got shat on by a single touch.

Everything pales in comparison to the pain arc.

Kishi's Mistake / Reason for "Downhill".

Though really difficult to avoid, Kishimoto didn't implement enough plots for it to develop later.

The more plots get resolved, the less there is.

Sooner or later Kishimoto is forced to improvise and develop from thin and stretched plots.
I guess this is the major cause of "asspulls" and "trolls".

He knows this an writes a load of flashbacks to compensate for those mistakes.

I'm a writer myself, I don't blame Kishimoto. For a series that's been running for a decade its really difficult to develop a chapters without a new arc.

Not saying I'm a better writer, just wish Kishimoto was more cautious about the duration of the series. Authors like Oda know this "trap" and build a way well around it.
