Why is everyone say 8 gates = Kakashi?

Who the hell said Kakashi can't use strategy when fighting 8 gate Gai? I feel as if it could go either way to tell the truth. Not like Kakashi is the type to run in blitzing. If Gai wanna live, he would keep himself at 7 gate.

Kakashi is still stronger than Gai though xD.

And actually it all depends on the scenario. Having Kage level power or above doesn't = you are stronger, if you fail to utilize that power.

But you shouldn't underestimate a genius like Kakashi.

Because Kakashi is gonna go against someone like Guy and not have a plan to make him waste his Eight Gates on something else? AKA a Shadow Clone?

People act like Kakashi is gonna act like Tsunade and try to punch Guy in the face at the moment.

Cut the battle short and Kamui snipe Guy while he's in mid activation stage.

He can take Guy lower than the 6th gate. Or maybe 5th or less. Regardless, Kakashi is a master at making his opponent think he's won. Shadow clones, ect. He's one of the worst opponents for Guy. That being said, Guy definitely wins in a head-to-head fight, but that's not how Kakashi fights.

It doesn't. Like whatsoever it's far above kakashi level kakashi isn't even that stong. IMO.
So can someone please five me evidence that Kakashi can even keep up with 3 gates,
