Kidd is simply a reckless rookie. It's not reasons that move him to do this and that. He just does on a whim.

A crew whose main core is made predominately of swordsmen and marksmen VS a rookie with magnetic powers. Perhaps they thought he'd turn the tides. MUM had an elaborate labyrinth system and enough crew mates to start her own series. Kaido on the other hand is the premier best fighter and has an army of zoans. Blackbeard just came from his scuffle with Whitebeardless Pirates & was hunting for DF users. He was a too great a variable.
