Why is character bashing not allowed, but character butt kissing is?

I've seen too many people butt kiss characters saying that they solo, fodderize, etc. So, why is this allowed, but character bashing isn't?

Plus, it's harder to figure out the difference between a wank thread and positive one. Opposed to bashing threads, which are far more obvious.

I'm saying character bashing should be allowed. Some characters like Sakura have been bashed since the beginning of Naruto, it's a tradition, and should be allowed.

Well wank threads are usually statements rather than opinions, such as: "solos your fave", "He's the most intelligent", "Itachi neg diffs Galactus", "He's god", and anything with "lord, soloking, etc."


Something more appropriate would be, "he's a great character because....."

People here think arguments are inherently a bad thing so that character bashing rule was made.

The sad part is that the character bashing and trolling rules aren't defined well at all. For example, the forum rules section completely avoids what trolling actually is and what behaviors fall into said category. Because of this, mods have the power to lock anything they view as trolling /character bashing

Both rules are entirely subjective
