What if CP9 succeeded in taking Robin into custody and the straw hats narrowly escaped , only later to find that she was rescued from impel down during the break out and is reunited with the straw hats after the time skip, she spends the time on Kuja for two years and learns to use Busoshoku Haki from them.

Too be honest I would've preferred this to what actually happened at Ennies Lobby. Your thoughts on the matter?

The entire point of Ennies Lobby was to potray that Luffy doesn't give a f*ck about the WG or anybody and can go to any lengths to protect his nakama with success.... These qualities are essential for the Pirate King or the one who carries The Will Of D.... Luffy has stormed all the three important Marine places and succeded in Ennies Lobby and got Robin back.... Ace died so his going to Impel Down and Marineford wasn't successful but he made strong allies in both places so it's a sort of a trade off.... Those Alliances will be useful for him in the future....

First of all, haki in general is really hard to be learned in just 2 years even Rayleigh said it himself, ofc Luffy is a huge exception. Not to mention, I can't see Robin nor any of the SH's to even awaken haki in just 2 years (besides the monster trio) due to their low stamina/will. I rather see Robin rock some Rokushiki based attacks. It actually goes with her devil fruit actually, I mean imagine her using Shigan with her DF abilities that is just deadly. Ennies Lobby's purpose was actually for Franky to be urged and foreshadowed to join in the post ennies lobby arc.

And introduce Rokushiki , Garp as Luffys grand father and Dragon as his father ( post ennies lobby but still... )and the justice triangle. We already knew Luffy would do anything for his Nakama. Hence he won vs Enel when he was covered in Burns with a gargantuan golden ball melted to his arm.

just to correct something for you. Luffy actually succeeded on rescuing Ace, and Ace chose death because his emotions got on him for Akainu insulting Whitebeard.

Luffy's infiltration and escaping from Impel Down is half success and half failure.

Really? I could of sworn Rayleigh saying haki in general is. Anyways she could of learned it from anywhere, I mean Sanji learned a form of Rokushiki by himself. Yeah ik what you're talking about the whole Akainu thing, I just want to show you how Robin will be if she had Shigan. I just don't see Robin being haki orientated that much, I see Robin as an assassin when it comes to combat. Her Busoshoku haki level may be around/above TS-Luffy's level. Busoshoku + Shigan would be very deadly though.

Having that also may have given Oda a larger chance to show her in a fight at some point on Dressrosa.
