You say repetitive. Pain evil turns good, Sasuke evil turns good, obitoo evil turns good, gaara evil turns good, itachi evil turns good, orochimaru evil turns good, kabuto evil turns good need I say more? Naruto spiky hair, Yondaime spiky hair, Tobirama spiky. Tsundae big boobs, sakura big boobs, hinata big boobs.
Naruto ends all enemies even in movies with rasengans or variations of it. Same with storylines naruto fights then eventually does bullshit no jutsu & everyone turns to his cause.
Pretty much all the shit you say can be related to nearly every action manga there is.
Personally Bleach>Naruto
Bolded=wrong.
Pain wasnt evil, he thought he was doing what was right. Sasuke was GOOD and then evil, now nobody knows where his true loyalty lies. Obito has similar story to Pain. Itachi was never evil..Sakura does not have big boobs, smh..
Boooooo. Bleach is entertaining for the fights not the story. I can't imagine many people who watched ichigo rampage through soul society and thinking "well this is boring". I for one am actually dissapointed they stopped ( permanently? ) the anime because fillers aside it was good.

ok I'll admit that the current arc is not so great, but once kubo will drag Ichico into the manga it'll sure be awsm again..bleach is a unique manga, unlike naruto,it dint steal ideas from dbz or hxh
I personally like Bleach and find it entertaining but there are problems with it:
1) This first problem isn't unique to Bleach. It is common throughout Shonen Manga and one of the reasons Naruto is awesome is because it does not have this problem: There are too many fights. Because of this, Kubo puts in ridiculously stupid and pointless side villains that have no relevance and only exist for that one fight scene. Almost all villains in Naruto are important to the plot. Kishi almost never puts in random side villains.
2) Bleach fights are not well thought out. Like many other Shonen manga, the fights are manly the characters blasting their powers against each other until one of them wins (Usually in a mutual strike in which the hero falls and the villain is standing until the villain falls and the hero gets up again; kubo uses this over and over and over...)
3) Ichigo can bacically beat anyone even if he doesn't deserve to win. Imagine if Naruto was able to beat Kakashi in season 2. That's basically what happened in Bleach where after 2 seasons Ichigo was able to beat Byakuya and Kenpachi, even though he had only a couple of weeks of training.

Yes it has, it's gotten quite a lot of similarities and idea from yu yu hakusho
OT: bleach is not that bad, but just one thing, almost every character has identical faces and bodily structures? I think I probably need glasses or on the other hand you could probably get that number tested. Barely I've seen this, all the arrancars, soul society captains, the sternitters, they all vary in body shape and facial features. And the story is cliche I concede on that, and the fights were relatively short, one of the main fights ichgio vs Aizen was really short and I found it very dissapointing. but I really like the complexity of some characters in the series, like Aizen, ulquiorra, juha Bach (his recent backstory is rather thrilling) and haschwalth and other characters.
for something as long as bleach and naruto, people have already invested alot of time to just stop reading.!!
Yes, and that's exactly one of the reasons people will or should be pissed. If you played a game which ended up having a major cliffhanger or the story was just shit when it approached the end, I'm pretty certain you'd be pissed.
1. The character designs are lazy. Alot of the characters have the same facial structures and body types. Same with the women, either have huge boobs, or childish figure. And all the women (except Orihime and like, three others) all seem to have anger problems. Same personalities repeat.
2. The story is repetitive. Seems like there is always a damsel in distress, first Rukia, then Orihime.
3. Main enemy of each arc, somehow always has the exact number of henchmen needed to counter the main guys and vice versa. It gets repetitive.
4. Most chapters nowadays consist of one slash that takes several panels to complete, then an explanation and chapter ends. Next chapter showing the result of the slash, and more explaning. Rarely do we ever get chapters with real story events. Lately, the battles all have been pretty short and anti-climatic. They dont need to be TOO long, but at least long enough to be interesting.
5. In battle, the antagonists always end up squaring off against the only characters capable of fighting them. ALWAYS, guaranteeing the protagonist will always win. its never a mismatch.
6. character development is lame and generic.
7. asspulls left and right.
One thing I do like however are the character's clothing and styles. They are pretty unique. But thats it. Bleach lost its shine after Hueco Mundo. Now it feels dragged on, a war arc? Copying Naruto, ok. Kubo. Just save urself and end it like the anime did.
1. you can point many things wrong with Bleach, but design, aesthetics and art work is not one of them. Its one of the most amazingly visual mangas to have ever been drawn. And it includes character design. Also, 90% of all mangas have either child-like girls or big breasted ones. ITs a japanese thing. Bleach isn't even that evident in it.
2. All mangas of the same genre has a damsel in distress. FT has Lucy and Wendy. Naruto has Hinata and Sakura. Its normal. Its part of the genre so its not a fault but a characteristic.
3. Again, its always like that. However, in bleach, you have had defeats and deaths of main characters, something that is rarely done in other mangas of the same genre so its not all cookies and cream and everyone ends the arc happy.
4. Its not a question of nowadays. Bleach was always like that. A strong enemy takes on some fodders then a strong hero comes and beats him in 3 or 4 moves. Aizen wasn't such a long fight against Ichigo if you think about it for example. Nor was Ulquiora. The fights themselves aren't that long. Never were.
5. you already said this.
6. you already said this.
7. don't even know what that means but I assume its some kind of fetiche so I'm not even going there
The anime was actually a shame as it was one of the best animes done so far both visually and in terms of story pacing and argument adaptation. It had some filler arcs but nothing to the level of Naruto for example. And it was a much better anime than Naruto is today. Bleach is ending and Kubo is doing a great job. The last arc has been much much much much better than 90% of the previous ones and Kubo is doing a great final stretch. The manga returned to the amaxingly artistic visuals it had and the story has been given more depth. He is developing those he never showed that much about as well.
So sorry, but I don't think most of your arguments are valid. The only thing I can really say badly about Bleach is that he tried too much to make it work after Aizen's defeat. Ichigo was a human, a shinigami, a quincy, a fullbringer and a hollow. All of these were added to keep ichigo into the loop as the main character and keep him relevant after each arc. However, tbh, I think he exaggerated a bit on it and stretched the manga too much. That I'll agree. But thats a mistake we seen in many mangas and Naruto is no exception. The only exception I know of are small mangas who end when they conclude the story and One Piece who has its own pace and was never really changed.
Well there are some moments which I find repetitive and get disappointed but then we get two or three chapters which are too good. For me Bleach keeps on jumping between Repetition and Pure Awesome Chapters.
Bleach is kinda weird these days. There will be 2-3 boring chapters, and then suddenly, an amazing chapter, same as Naruto. I think, when people read the chapters together in volumes, then they don't find as much flaws as they do when they read a chapter per week. Naruto had plotholes before too, but no one nitpicked on them, because most of us read the older chapters in volumes, until 2008/2009, after which Mangapanda and other sites starting uploading the scans.

As it stands now I think some of the people replying are acting much more 'butthurt' than the creator of this thread. Of all the posts in this thread only one or two persons actually tried to counter the criticism, most of the others were posts like yours.
I'm not a hardcore fan of Bleach, even calling me a regular fan might be over the top, however I read Bleach each week and discuss it regularly. Some the statements she gave I also don't agree with and others are pulled out of proportion, but nonetheless definitely contain some truth. I'm not going to call Bleach horrible though, of course that depends on your own tastes, however it doesn't become such a popular series if it's horrible. I even find it quite odd that people are reacting like this as some of these arguments regularly pop up in the weekly discussion thread.
For instance:
2) The damsel in distress: this is pretty much not true. Yes during the SS arc they had to save Rukia and they went to Hueco Mundo to save Orihime, however she was able to pull through herself to a certain degree and this concept was not precent in many other arcs. In OP they also had to save Robin and Nami at certain points and Sakura needed to be saved more than once in Naruto. This is not more prominent in Bleach than other series and thus can hardly be considered an argument as why Bleach would be bad.
3) Exact number of henchmen: this I can hardly call an argument. There are 13 captains, but 10 Espada, then you got the left over Espada, lower ranked soldiers, Ichigo's group, an entire alphabet of Sternritter etc. So I sincerely have my doubts that the opponents always have the exact same number as the protagonists. This applies much more to One Piece than to Bleach, but doesn't really provide any reasons to complain as long as there's enough to see.
On the other hand:
1) Character designs: there are indeed several characters that have strong resemblances. When Ginjo first appeared, people already started saying that it's Aizen or Aizen's brother or whatever. When that Sternritter appeared in Kurotsuchi's lab, again people were talking about Aizen just because all of them look similar. However likewise the way how she is describing it is a bit too much. I definitely wouldn't call it a lazy design as Kubo has quite a unique type of artwork. Same with the personalities, there is something true in that argument, but I find that hardly a real issue and blown out of proportion. I've read quite a lot series where it's far more worse, where it becomes even impossible to distinguish 5 or 6 characters from each other based on facial features and personalities.
5) Enemies always fight the person with the abilities that works the best: this is indeed often the case. I'm not going to say every time, but it happens a lot. Chad fought in Hueco Mundo coincidently someone who has a near identical fighting style. Same for Ishida, who then fought someone who fights strictly long range. Soifon fought coincidently an Arrancar that also has a similar fighting style as hers. On top of that Kubo gives them abilities that seem very OP, especially recently, only explains them very vaguely and of all people those persons fight someone that has the ability to perfectly counter it. This is again not something unique to Bleach, however it becomes painfully obvious in Bleach.
Bleach has indeed issues when it comes down to character development and story progression. The overall concept of the manga and the artwork are good, but the telling of the story has never been Kubo's forte. Every series has their own good and bad points, but Bleach has had for a while now problems with that things that are very noticeable and with no compensation for it. I realized a while ago that if you read the entire series, it's less problematic, but that it becomes much more prominent when you read it weekly. I thin Bleach would have been better as a monthly series rather than a weekly one. Battles that should be short he prolongs, battles that should have some attention barely get any or are even off screen. He creates problems where there are none simply so that he could 'solve' them. He wastes entire panels on useless stuff for god knows why, what's the point of half a page for a single finger? This all regularly created plotholes, contradictions and irregularities. Kensei is fighting Wonderweiss, suddenly Wonderweiss pops up in front of Jamaji and Kensei seems then completely fine after Aizen is beaten.
Bleach is not a horrible manga, but yeah it definitely has quite a set of issues. Each series has that, but I think the biggest problem is that Kubo doesn't actually have anything to cover it up. That Bleach still was able to get where it is today while have all those issues, you could consider in a certain way that as a reason to say it's not so horrible.
Then this means you're not a true fan of Bleach simply because:
1. Well you're half right on this one but you should see a very big defference in the drawings of Kubo in Aizen arc and Fullbringer arc... the drawings there excelled greatly especially in Fullbringer arc....
2. You should know that Ichigo's motive is to just protect his friends... which I think Rukia and Urahara have already explained in thesee following pages:
You must be registered for see images
You must be registered for see images
You must be registered for see images
3-6. Seriously some people don't know what they want... 1stly they were complaining about that Bleach fights are always scattered around... and many at the same time, which I find this as a unique trait of Bleach... you will rarely see Blaech fights take place in one place or scene. Also Stop saying the character development sucks.. because if you say that you're not considering Rukia, Inoue, Ichigo and even Renji... if you look closely these guys their powers are increasing greatly... Its not always like that look at Arrancar arc not everyone got whom they were capable of beating, look at ichigo vs Ulquora and Ichigo vs zaraki and many more.. in these fights Ichigo was the weaker than them but somehow his powers as a hybrid helped him.
7. Asspulls? Oh please Bleach doesn't have those... Every power up in Bleach has been forshadowed and there is always a logical reasoning to it. Now tell me which asspuls you speak of?
Bleach has always been okay to me. Its like a flatline, its a steady horizontal line and when something epic happens, the line goes up and then back down after the epicness passes. Its good enough to keep my interest but not be a favorite.
