I just saw a few earlier posts that said something along the lines that Naruto wouldn't be any less lonely without a family, without anyone to go home to. This person said that Naruto has friends, he has Iruka, so Naruto doesn't need a family to feel content but I personally beg to differ. I don’t understand why people were tremendously against the concept of him having his own family, because you’re clearly undermining the importance of it. So let me try to counter that with my own rebuttal.

I do have to agree on certain parts though; Naruto does have important bonds. Yes, Iruka is important, Sasuke is important, Sakura is important, and so are Kakashi and Jiraiya and every other bonds he has made throughout the series. And yes, you don’t need to be blood related to bond with people. But Naruto having a family of his own is also very special, it is also very very important. Naruto needs someone to go home to. Here’s is a prime example.

This is a one shot by Kishi, in this chapter we saw Naruto’s bond and interaction with his friends. He is thankful for them, when they are around he obviously doesn’t feel any form of loneliness. But when they leave to their own respective homes and family, he feels lonely because his home is empty, there’s no one else but him in that house, he feels empty without a family. That’s why Hinata, Boruto and Himawari are important to Naruto; they gave him a family of his own, people that he can go home to. That’s why Boruto and Himawari are important. Because they are his children, his family. They’re important because Naruto was an orphan. But just because Naruto made these new important bonds does not mean that he is abandoning his older bonds. Don’t feel threatened by Hinata, she’s not here to destroy bonds but to expand it. She’s here to fill Naruto with more love, she’s here to complete his life with their children.

Anyways that was my own personal perspective on the manner, you can choose to disagree with it but watching Naruto go through his orphaned hardship in Part 1 to finally receiving a family of his own, to top it off gaining the title of Hokage makes the ending worthwhile to me.

I didn't care for who he ends up with at all honesty. But still, looking back I think it was a right for him to finally have his own family. He basically as I said before, now someone who he never had, which is being a loving father.

No, he needed a family to go to. Friends aren't enough sometimes, in Nardos case it wasn't. I dislike his character so much but even I understand that he needed a family and I'm glad his characters is happy and found something he never had. Don't know why Naruto fans aren't more happy that his character found happiness in that way. People forget this part of his story.

Too bad the ending didn't show him with a loving family. Instead it portrays him as a shitty dad, and bolt as a spoiled brat. Kishi could have done much better.

I agree 100%, Naruto deserves all these things!
He now finally has what he didn't have as a child and personally, I think that's just amazing.

No it showed Naruto as a man with responsibilities and Bolt as a child who wants a bit more attention. How is protecting the village as hokage and earning for his family making him a shitty dad hmmm? He can't spend all day with his kids now can he.

He can't take his kid to work once in a while? Or tell him early on he has responsibilities? Anywas that whole scene was dumb. It was just there to reinforce kishi's lame ass "shinobi are people that endure theme".

We saw one panel, makes me wonder how many other times he would have tried to instill this into his son. Children don't accept things immediately, that's how they are. So he's not going to accept the fact that Naruto has responsibilities which inhibit him from spending time with him right away. To be honest, I think Kishi was just trying to show us how parents can feel at times when work takes up most of their time. Shows us how things have also come a full 360 as well. Naruto now understands what its like to be a parent and the sacrifices they make as he's now making those same sacrifices.

Great thread man :)

Hits right in the feels. And I totally agree with you. Having a family is important and I'm glad we get to see Naruto progress the way he did and ended like this! :win:

I liked the outcome but I kind of wished the manga didn't rush it. Having the manga go a few weeks longer to fill in some of the blanks wouldn't have hurt.
