I'm by no means educated in this subject so I won't claim to be an expert, but if this is how it really is, then they're screwed up. That being said, the fact that the majority these people you observe only means that the spokespeople of feminism are idiots, not the general concept. If it truly just the desire to be equal with men, I'd imagine that most girls are feminists. This only truly proves that the loud-mouths are the the noticeable ones.
Though here's a strange thing. In the Bible, the curse on Humanity was that Man had to suffer hardship in order to survive. The punishment of women was that they'd have pain in childbirth and would constantly desire to be the head while the man is. This kinda makes the bible spot-on regarding extreme feminism.
However, before you say the bible's sexist, that was under completely different conditions. I think this is spawned by the fact that women, in general, have weaker bodies. In an era where most work was physical, women probably weren't cut out for it, so this is probably why man became head of the house. After all, why shouldn't the provider have the last say about what's done around the house? That being said, now there's desk jobs. So now, women can support themselves, and as such, have equal say in decisions in that regard.(at least if they have a job as well) However, even if the man is the head of the household, he has by no means, the right to dominate and ignore a woman's feelings as the bible said to love you wife as much as your self.
