Why Grisha left all the work to Eren?

I've been wondering why did Grisha Jaeger gave the transformation power to Eren instead of going straight to Survey Corps? He had all the knowledge about Titans outside and inside the walls and he probably knew how to use the "coordinate" power. If he were to join Survey Corps, he could have explained everything to Erwin or the previous commander and they would be able to work together without the brass knowing anything.

There are few explanations for why he decided to die and give the power to Eren that I can think of:
- He could not live without the love of his life - Carla Jaeger.
- He knew the higher ups were after him and he would not be able to help.
- *plot twist* he is not dead

Any thoughts?

I don't remember but Lord Grisha was already too deep into his plan when he decided to killed the Historia family, he just didn't had the time

OT. Perhaps he was like Zeke and the other Titan Shifters, sent on a mission but fell in love with Carla and had Eren, knowing he would..... Eaten.. For his betrayal, he preferred to die by the mouth of a relative than by a retarded titan.

Maybe because he had a family. Eren did mention in the flashback that he was acting weird since Carla died

Honestly I've thought about this too and there are only a few things that I can think of... When he turns Eren into a titan he says something along the lines of "Let their memories guide you" or something about following memories so what i am thinking is that when Eren ate him he thought that he may receive memories (kinda how the royal family would pass on the memories by eating each other), so maybe there is something that Eren was supposed to learn but never did or he was too young or it could just be that it only worked in that room where Eren was captured, not 100% sure but i think there was supposed to be more to it and we may or may not find out when or if they actually get into the basement. Just a theory.
