Why Goku is so strong

I think Goku is the strongest anime character because it waaay different from almost every other manga in terms of storyline. The Dragonball Series isn't just a series, but the life story of Goku, from the time he was a little boy to a full adult. The difference is that most other anime start at the main character around 12 or 13, and only cover up to about 20 at the oldest. Goku has covered his teen years where mountain busters got introduced during his youth, and he and his opponents have only got stronger from there.

Thoughts? I'm sure others have had the same thought but I wanted to share it too.

I really liked the Dragon ball series when I was 10 or 11 but then it got a little old .. I mean tht they stretched the storyline a bit too far .... Goku as child > Goku as teen > goku as adult + Gohan as kid > > Dead goku back to life + Gohan as teen or adult ( I didn't understand the diff.) > then gohans child and trunks gotenks etc.

I know that Naruto has gone long too but it has many diff. plots u know like narutos growth then orochimaru then akatsuki .. the series itself is filled with suspense that makes one curious to know more about it !

Becuase in our youth we didn't think about his power-ups, if you go now rewatch DBZ you'll see that every time he's short on power he gets a new Super Saiyan, no plot behind it, it "just happens".

But if we're talking about the manga then it's:
Vegito > Super Buu + Gohan absorbed > Super Buu + Gotenks absorbed > Gohan > Super Buu > Gotenks > Kid Buu=> Goku.

I don't think anybody read the op.
I wasn't asking why Goku was so strong, I was saying why I thought he was. It's really annoying how people flock to 'because goku=hax XD' whenever his name and power are mentioned in the thread title.
