Do it again:|

Are you too stupid to understand it with the first time? :lmao: Fair enough, I'll repeat:

Agnostics, on the other hand, do not deny the possibility of existance of any godly power., and we don't believe that scientific way is the only way of cognition. However, we do not also believe that IF some godly power exists, it can be comprehended and described with our level knowledge in such simple ways like any religion suggests, because something like this would be too complicated for our current level of development.

Tell me something I don't know, it's a song :). I know what it means lol and you don't believe in God that's all I'm saying.

When I copy and pasted the pics, they looked pretty small. Gonna fix that!

No, you've said that me being agnostic means me being atheist, which is absolutely false as I've explained above, so yeah, you obviously didn't know the difference before I explained it to you, because it was your suggestion that these terms are the same while they are totally different. :lol

Isn't it just annoying when people ASSume you are atheist? I hate when people do that to me. I've even had atheist say I was a closet atheist and afraid and when ever they told me that I reversed it and ask them how to they feel when some christian say"You're just a scared christian who is afraid to embrace god." They shut up after that. Some people even assume that I made something up cause I call myself pan-agnostic.Which is the belief that all/any thing can be god(s) or not be god(s). I really don't understand why some of these people have a hard time looking up the meaning of two words.

Such a nice thread. I always wonder the same. The only problem I have is that I didn't read. :bdpf:

Because people have a tendency to put anything that's not them into a box.

Generalising is considered polite and the correct way to address a topic, especially if you have a third person point of view on it.

Absolutely. This sums it up right here. I mean, I've done that in the past too and I'd NEVER call myself a saint--but I'm one of the few fighting against that nature, keeping an open mind, agreeing to dissagree (but the other person(s) need to do the same) & trying to understand the other person's point. Like you said, the problem is that 90% or more just put it in a box

We already are, pal. It sucks but that's what the human condition has put us in.

I'm agnostic, so generalizing religion is perfectly fine and natural to me.

Im just gonna go ahead and burst your ignorant bubble.

One cannot be, I stress, cannot be just "agnostic" it's simply not possible, one can either be a:

Agnostic Theist

or

Agnostic Atheist

there are no other category.

you either have a belief in atleast 1 God, or you have lack such a belief, if you believe in the existence of atleast 1 God then you're a Theist, if you don't hold such a belief then you're a Atheist.

Please, kid. You clearly don't know the meaning of the term "agnostic", and obviously your IQ is not high enough to at least google the article on the matter before embarrassing yourself like this.

"im just gonna ignore the fact that you called a person stupid for not knowing the meaning of "Agnostic" when you yourself don't know the meaning of "Atheist" (this is me ignoing it)

But I'll give you a hint: it's a phylosophy that is very different from atheism, otherwise there wouldn't be a separate term to begin with. Atheists believe that the universe can only be cognized and understood by the scientific methods, and no supernatural power exists unless it's proven by science.

This is not the case, you are infact wrong, when you made this claim.

All atheist is adressing is the belief or lack there of in a God, it have abselutely nothing to do with beliving in anything supernatural or following the scientific method.

sure however, many atheist do not believe in anything supernatural and do actually only believe in things that can be proven by science but that is in no way a criteria of "Atheism" (i've met Atheist that believes there are a life after death and that ghosts does infact exists)

Atheism adresses the belief.

Agnosticism adresses knowledge.

so when someone asks what you're stance on religion you can't just claim "you don't know" because that was not what you wore asked, you wore asked if you believed in a god or not, and you repeating I don't know does not and will never answer the question it will just show that you are stubborn and ignorent and to afraid to be honest.

simply state if you believe in any of the gods you know of, it's litterly a yes or no answer, there are no middle ground.

Agnostics, on the other hand, do not deny the possibility of existance of any godly power.,

neither does atheism.

and we don't believe that scientific way is the only way of cognition. However, we do not also believe that IF some godly power exists, it can be comprehended and described with our level knowledge in such simple ways like any religion suggests, because something like this would be too complicated for our current level of development. To us, atheism is just another form of religion, in a way.

So the lack of belief in a god is a religion to you? (such ignorence)

Hopefully yout tiny brain will be able to understand the difference now. I doubt it, though, so I suggest you come back to school asap and educate yourself. :hint:

and you should go and join him, this is phylosophy 101 mate, go back to school and stop pretending to know what you're talking about.

Absolutely. This sums it up right here. I mean, I've done that in the past too and I'd NEVER call myself a saint--but I'm one of the few fighting against that nature, keeping an open mind, agreeing to dissagree (but the other person(s) need to do the same) & trying to understand the other person's point. We already are, pal. It sucks but that's what the human condition has put us in.

The religious people are still in the vast majority, but it's true that there is still a ever growing amount of people who does not believe in any Gods.

Welp I found the answer, It's cause they have a self-righteous contempt towards other beliefs(or all religions) and an aversion to offend any particular group or denomination.
