Gaara of the sand is superior to MS sasuke. Though sasuke is a superior ninja it seem kishi has made it certain that gaara is more then capable of dealing with MS and EMS users (excluding Obito). Ill provide you with facts and reasonings that i have come up with to prove my case.
1. Amaterasu/ Enton
2. Genjutsu
3. Susanoo
4. Sasuke Doesnt Have
1. Amaterasu/ Enton
Amaterasu is not a problem for gaara. He has already shown twice that he is able to block it.
Here you see gaara blocking Amaterasu or Enton which is being PROJECTED toward him.
Here you see gaara placing his sand over Amaterasu in order to block Raikages attack.
In both cases it is obviously shown that amaterasu cause no damage to gaara's sand. And if there is damage it takes a long time to effect it.

We have already seen that Enton is useless against gaara because his sand will just block it. But what about Amaterasu? Well it seems amaterasu is also uselss against gaara becuase of his Sand Armour.
Ill Let Kankuro explain what it is.
So even if sasuke does attack gaara with Amaterasu and it hits gaara, it will actually only hit his sand armour and he will be able to push it off of him with the sand he controls.
In conclusion, Amaterasu is ineffective against Gaara.

2. Genjutsu
There are 3 factors to gaara's fightning style that allows me to believ that he will not be harmed by sasuke's genjutsu.
1. Gaara's Sand Dome
While in this circular and mobile dome gaara is protected from the outside world. Sasuke will not be able to make eye contact while gaara is in this protective dome.
2. Third Eye
With chakra, the user connects an eye made of sand or Gold Dust to their optic nerve, which enables them to know what happens in the artificial eye's field of vision. This allow gaara to see what is happening of the battlefield without having to worry about being caught in genjutsu.
3. Long Range
the fact that Gaara is a long range fighter also improves his chances of not getting hit with genjutsu. Seeing as how visual genjutsu doesnt work over a long distance, this will help protect gaara from getting caught.
So the chances of gaara getting hit with genjutsu is very very slim.

Honestly susanoo should not be a problem because gaara has proven 2 things in this picture:
1. Gaara is capable of hold down and restricting the movement of Susanoo.
As you can see in the picture gaara was able to use his sand to restrain susanoo and restrict its movements.
2. Gaara is capable of pulling people out of susanoo.
In the picture we can plainly see that gaara can pull people out of susanoo. For some reason people say that gaara was only able to accomplish this feat because oonoki made his sand lighter. This is false, the manga states that gaara's sand was made lighter so he could move it faster. Not so that he could pierce susanoo. And there is no correlation to lighter sand being able to get through susanoo. By their logic Onoki can remove people from susanoo becuase he can make his body lighter.
By refrence of the manga, gaara himself is capable of pulling people out of susanoo. Whish allows me to say susanoo also is not a threat when facing gaara.

What really hurts sasuke when fighting gaara is the fact that ssuke doesnt have a counter for this
