He survived that ass whopping, only to lose again.
He was an Edo Tensei, wanted to become human, only then to die again.
He got solo'd by plot no jutsu
At the end he still couldnt 1-1 Hashirama, and Hashirama could of tanked JJ Madara med deff.

If anything I learned that Ashura > Indra all day, everyday.

Exactly,we saw him use the Rinnegan at high levels despite having it for a very short amount of time.Hell,he was even launching his sword through JJ Madara and cutting him in half within 15 minutes of having it,then later from further usage he masters his teleportation,does CT with Naruto against Kaguya,he clearly got a good understanding of it from that considering he Negged all 9 Fully transformed Bijuu with it in seconds with a coreless CT that turns it's targets (9 Bigass Creature) themselves into the Core,then he brings all 9 Bijuu sealed CT to him with ease - Bansho Tenin,and easily extracts all the Bijuus chakra - Preta Path,then combines it with PS - Outer Path,Teleports his PS,absorbs Naruto's chakra as soon as the Kyuubi hands it out to him,obvoiusly cause the Sharingan can see chakra so he was able to time it perfectly.

So Ofcourse like 10 years later he would have all the Rinnegan's powers mastered + with the Rinnegan the user can use all five basic nature elements,and the Sharingan can copy all Jutsu besides KKG.
