Why didnt Itachi try to stop sasuke.He belives that only naruto can do this but I also belive that if he tried he would have succeded.
If talk no justu did not work why not use izanami cause he knew that he was going to get sealed so why not just sacrifice another eye.Itachi once said that trying to do everything on your own you will fail but this was somthing that was cake for him to do so why not.:shrug:

Because, let's face it, each time Itachi tried to do something with Sasuke it blew up in his face. He might be an incredible competent shinobi but what regards to his brother he is a complete and utter failure.
