Why dont you like Obito?

i used to love him when he was tobi pretending to be madara and even after he was revealed as obito but now i sorta dislike him because he's literally just floating there WAITING to be TnJ!!! i mean wtf?!?! he could just kill everyone there or at least wipe out all the fodder and show naruto and all the other monsters there that fighting is pointless and then start the infinite tsukyomi but no. he's just floating there and defending and waiting for naruto to come up with the perfect line to TnJ him into reviving everyone and dying to go see rin in the afterlife

His love for Rin + seeing Rins death via the one person he entrusted to take care of her cause him to lose faith in the ninja world. That is his reason for doing all of this. Its not really about Rin, it was just her death that made him "open his eyes".. or shut them, however you want to look at it lol.

That's incredibly lame, especially since he didn't even get the full story. His motives were rushed by kishi, he was lazy.

1) he didn't create Akatsuki, Yahiko did (it just had a different purpose at the time). Obito then influenced Nagato to bring together a group of people (Akatsuki), and Obito hid in the shadows.

2) he waged war under Madara's name. If it weren't for the whole shenanigan about him claiming to be Madara, no one would have taken him seriously.

3) Lots of people have broken Naruto's hope, he just reminds himself about his will to fight. That's kinda the whole point of this manga. Its also the point of Talk no Jutsu.

4) How is bringing Naruto to tears a feat? The ramen guy has brought Naruto to tears more than Obito, does that mean the ramen guy is better than Obito?

5) The Juubi killed a supporting character. You could make the argument that the Juubi was under Obito's control, but it still doesnt change much. Neji was a pretty irrelevant character at that point in time (dont get me wrong, I loved his character, but no one can deny that supporting characters right now are just fodder with history).

6) Only logical "feat", but not really a great feat as a "villain".

7) If that were true the entire army would have given up already, and he wouldn't be literally begging for Naruto to Talk no Jutsu him.

10) If you're looking at things like that, then Madara/Hashirama are the reason for all this. If you wanted to get technical you could even go as far as saying the ninja who kidnapped Rin are responsible for this. If you wanted to be a smartass you could say the SO6P is responsible for all this.

1. Didnt Obito originally plant that seed in Yahiko/Nagato's minds to create the akatsuki? And even so, he basically made akatsuki his own.

2. Regardless, he still figured out a way to do so. As you said, he used Madara's name, but in reality, it was Obito who tricked everyone into it.

3. Who broke Naruto's will? Naruto was abput ready to give up completely if it werent for Hinata snapping him out of it. Well, Nagato almost did. But thats it.

4. What other opponent other than Sasuke managed that? Its a feat because bringing an opponent to tears is different than someone being overjoyed, it means he pushed Naruto to the point where he couldnt contain his emotions, it shows how far Naruto was pushed.

5. Obito and Madara were in control of the Juubi at that time. Juubi dosent use Mokuton. It was Obito's mokuton attack that resulted in Neji's death, not the Juubi.

7. The entire army, or at least MOST of them already did at one point, buuut thanks to Naruto and Hashirama's feelings, they didnt. His tnj is what caused all this to go down, caused Sasuke to rage against Konoha, caused Nagato to do his bidding, Obito's TNJ caused alot of damage.

8. Have you seen what he has been doing with his abilities? Even before jinchuuriki status, he was wrecking with just Kamui alone. Now that he is jin, his abilities have shown to be on a whole other level than everyone elses..

Clever as in, he know the right words, and actions to take to manipulate and in battle, he is clever shown when he fought Torune and Fuu, pretending to attack when in reality he was still using Kamui, another example is using his Madara guise perfectly, and pretending to be a completely other person,TOBI. The only person who saw through him was Itachi.

10. Well, if he hadnt carried out Madara's plans, Madara would have stayed in that cave, and Konoha wouldnt have been attacked, thus the basis of the Naruto story wouldnt exist, and the main character wouldnt be Naruto.

Because he is doing too much over a love lost. The love didn't even love him back to begin with. But i like his enthusiasm.

It's not always about power/feats. His character seems lazily done, sure he liked Rin but this is just a really silly reason for him to do everything he's done. Kishi really could have thought of something better for him.

What are your reasons for NOT liking Obito if you dont?

Seems like the only thing ppl dont like is his reasoning for the war, which people constantly misinterpret the reason being Rin. Those folks who think thats the reason need to re-read the Manga chapters again.
