There is no concept of deadbeats here. They leave and it's considered normal.



That sounds horrible. But yes, once you culturally ingrain this concept in people, that's what happens.

Read my posts again. Also, proper law enforcement can create an element of "fear" of consequences. If you do not even introduce that, then it's a free-pass for everyone.

I understand law needs to step in someway, but at times what they ask is excessive and unnecessary. But how about when children aren't involved getting half of your things doesn't seem right especially when you haven't been together for that long. And if they have kids that's what child support is for so how can they ask for money on top of that.

It depends upon the society. In a culture where women are sold off to men in marriage and are not accepted back into the family if they are divorced, then where would they go? Either, some centers should be introduced for such women or the laws for them to have a share in the husband's property should be there.

I'm all for distributing and proper allocation my issue is with the amount they decide

It is mostly minimum everywhere anyway. I am not familiar with western laws.

This is only an issue in the west. So let's just focus on that. Remember tiger woods wife divorce settlement??? Is a wife really worth that much ????

Well, it was probably an act to exact revenge as well. He was unfaithful. So, she probably took him to the cleaners. But, under normal circumstances, I don't think a wife is worth that much.

prenup is almost mandatory at this point.

Some women might get salty to the fact you don't trust/love them enough if you offer a prenup.

Either way that's why it's always best to have a backup account.

that's only the surface, I saw some documentary on netflix few months ago about family courts and how they manipulate the husbands/fathers etc. one guy (40ish age) was forced to get rid of his entire stuff and was forced to basically move back in with his parents, some of the lawyers purposely drag on cases for months even years just so they keep getting paid $$$ and some of the mothers who try to fight back legally get arrested and lose custody of their kids. it's so disturbing and jaw dropping. divorce settlements suck, but it's horrifying if it's kids and money involved.
