Why does some 1 like kisame join the akatsuki?

If kisame is all powerful and has the tools absorb chakra and be on par with most of the tailed beasts then why would HE be teaming up, he seems to be the type who would just go around and baash people and keep everything for himself, could kisame be the 1 who betrays the akatsuki and decides that the 8 tail is a power he wants and doesnt want to share with because dont they need that statue to extract a beast to store its power?but in kisames case his sword extracts the chakra and stores it with in itself with out the need of the others just a thought?

Kisame is a missing nin. And if he were to take the 8 Tails for himself, Madara would just kill him. I think it said Kisame joined out of spite. I guess he just want's to be a bad ass lol. But i don't know why he would join Akatsuki, but luckily he did, shows us how bad ass and a strong character he is.

didnt he try assassinate someone from the water country and was classed a missing nin? how do you know madara would kill him? have you seen madara fight and what jutsu he can do lately?

Well the thing is I don't know what Madara can do and that's the scary part. Madara might be able to do some crazy Jutsu's and could kill anyone instantly.

well Kisame still recognized Madara as the Mizukage...or at least the one who was controlling the Mizukage...and it seems that Madara is the only person other than Itachi, that Kisame has any real respect for...

I don't think he will betray Madara...

i think that has alot to do with it his loyal to Madara. Im sure he enjoys the dirty missions Madara sends him because hes evil and love getting his hands dirty. Im sure Madara will reward him with a Bijuu at somepoint. I dont see Kisame being used like sasuke or the other akatsuki members.
