Why does Sasuke dub his final attack "Indra's arrow"?

Since when does Sasuke name his attacks after historical figures? Was he using a move that already existed and was used by Indra or did Sasuke just decide to name it after him because he thinks it's cool how he's his reincarnation and all dat...?

kishi is lazy.

lol, its really based off of the hindu god. Like most other techniques in the show(amaterasu, tsukuyomi etc)

it would be funny as fck if indra from the manga itself didn't have it.

It's probably meant to symbolize how he's hoping to conclude the Indra vs. Ashura battle once and for all with that technique. That's part of why Sasuke chose to fight Naruto at the VotE again, although of course that location has personal significance for Naruto and Sasuke, regardless of the statues.

Kishi used Naruto and Sasuke to show Indra and Ashura's feats because he didn't have time to do a Canon storyline on Otsutsuki.

VoTE 2 fight was meant to be a reflection of the fight Hagoromo's children had hence why Naruto had a similar looking avatar as Ashura. RSM was Ashura's power and India's arrow was Indra's feat, and neither of Hagoromos children needed bijuu because their power was influenced by the Juubi

When Naruto and Sasuke met the sage and received his powers, they were fully awakened as transmigrants and thus regained all of their old memories from their past lives.

Jk but that kinda makes sense, doesn't it?

I'll give you one better, how did both Kakashi and Obito both name their ability Kamui?

Maybe ninja just have a preordained idea of what things are called, or what they were originally titled. For example, Kakashi somehow knew Kamui was entitled Kamui maybe Indra had used the same attack in the past and thus is became Indra's Arrow.

Maybe it has something to do with how Kakashi and Obito were linked through their eyes and Sasuke and Indra were linked in that Sasuke literally contained his ghost.
