NaruHina is canon and? Every pairing is canon but that don't mean they have a reason to like each other. Like Sasuke never liking Sakura Naruto never liked Hinata. Hinata loves Naruto for his kindness, how he helped her be more confident in herself and like herself, how he inspired her to push forward through failures, and the fact that he's all around a warm, charismatic person to be around.

Naruto loves Hinata for her kindness, selflessness towards him, acknowledging and understanding him, being there to pick him up when he falls, and , like Naruto, overall kind, gentle personality.

And no @ the red. Sakura loves Sasuke for his looks. Kishimoto said he has no reason given for why Sakura loves Sasuke, called it an addiction, contrived, and even said the marriage isn't a happy one.

It seems like you are the one downplaying their bond just because its romance and not platonic.

My point is Sakura had to force Sasuke to be with her, even though Sasuke didn't want that. Hinata didn't force Naruto to do anything. Naruto chose Hinata because he wanted to but it not like Hinata was begging or forcing Naruto in anyway.

That what makes Naruto and Hinata better no forcing, no killing, no begging, etc.

The funny thing about Sasusaku is that they are the only teammates that we know of that actually married each other. What is funny about it is the fact that they probably have the weakest bond among all the teammates we see in the manga. I mean out of the 4 Konoha teams of Naruto's generation Sakura and Sasuke probably spend the least time together, get to know each other the least, and fail at even being close on a friendship level among all the teammates. The fact that the two teammates with the worst bond are the only ones that actually got together is crazy. Although maybe it goes back to one of the arguments against Narusaku since they at least did become somewhat close in part 2 which is that they had a brother sister bond. I guess maybe in Kishi's mind all the other teammates through spending years together and actually bonding together are already like family with a sibling like bond which is a no-no to pair them together. It is only a set of teammates like Sasuke and Sakura who were barely teammates for long at all and even then were not particularly close that can actually get together in the end.

Manga makes it pretty simple and obvious, which becomes more clear once you realize kishi is over obsessed and simplicity with parallels that plagues this manga. Anyway, Sakura had lust over sasuke's edgy personality much like naruto had grudge for the same reason. her lust turned into love(bonded would be a better choice of words) once she got to see sasuke when he was vulnerable during the encounter with orochimaru, then reinforced her love (or rather gave her love a reason) when she realize sasuke's cs1 corrupted him which drove her to want to save him from his darkness. kinda like how naruto despite previously wanting to bring sasuke back to the village, it wasn't until sasuke opened up and call him "his friend" that gave naruto his own true bond/motive. The creepy part honestly, is that sakura said she wanted to join sasuke as a rogue, kinda wish kishi kept with that idea, cause it reminds when hinata said she didn't care if she was selfish, all she wanted to do was be with naruto. it shows that love is irrational, it doesn't care about right or wrong.

The truth is Kishi is simply a shitty writer that completely lost track of his story. He maybe at the beginning of the story sort of though Sasuke and Sakura would get together but that is simply not the direction the majority of the rest of the story took. He needed to realize that with the story he told it simply did not make any sense anymore for them to get together even if that kind of was the regular plan. Instead though for the sake of a forced future generation he just forced them together at the end while putting no effort into explaining it and for that he is a piece of shit writer but he never cared about it anyway so I guess that is an excuse. The thing he has no excuse for is how awful Naruto and Sasuke's bond is and they are the main part of the story that he put the most effort into and they still were garbage.

Naruto and Hinata had development since the begining, indirectly of course. Everyone knew that Naruto was gonna end up with Hinata one way or another. From the day Naruto avenged hinata till the present.
