All I remember is Sasuke treating Naruto like crap lolllll. I dont really remember seeing those two bond much. Why would Naruto cry so much over someone who never treated him anywhere close to a real friend.

He does, still at the very start they both were lonely and that made them happy in some way. And then the hatred etc...

Watch part 1 again. It's the entire plot of 150 episodes.

where were you when Sasuke admitted that Naruto was his best friend? And even before that there are many signs, there hostility towards each other is a dead giveaway.

Naruto likes sasuke because its his first real friend and rival all in once. Naruto saw sasuke as inspiration to get the respect and to be noticed like Sasuke was. Plus when sasuke started noticing naruto in the first arc "Naruto, you're one of the ones I want to fight the most".

He see's a brother a comrad so to speak. good thread.

I guess they were friends but it seems like Naruto has a borderline obsession over Sasuke

Sasuke was one of the first to acknowledge Naruto as a shinobi; not only did he state he wanted to fight him, he also admitted that Naruto was his best friend.
Naruto also strives to be just as strong as Sasuke; yes, they had a rivalry, but it was a healthy rivalry - they both push themselves and each other to constantly get better.
Also Sasuke wasn't as prejudiced as the village. When he called Naruto an idiot, it was because he was acting as an idiot. It would have been worse if he called him a monster - following the example of the village - but he didn't. And that's something I think Naruto appreciates because Sasuke was one of the few who didn't want to avoid him or call him a monster.

^ This. + rep for you. It might not seem much for most people but if you try (and can) to put yourselves in Naruto's situation you'll understand how important a bond like his with Sasuke (and Iruka who was the first one to acknowledge him) is. After being an outcast all of his childhood life, hated, considered a dangerous being someone like Sasuke pops. Not only does he acknowledge him but saves his life a couple of times, says he is his friend and that he wants to fight him. An Uchiha wanting to fight him, a nobody until then.

I could go on, but you get my point :)
