Why does Naruto like Sakura? Just because he thinks she is cute ( only a few leaf guys think so) ? She didn't care two hoots about him when he was a kid and always thought of him as a nuisance.It was same for a long amount of time when they were togethar in team 7.Even though Naruto saved her from Gaara singlehandedly she kept crediting Sasuke for it, completely disregarding Naruto.Sure she began to acknowlege him soon afterwards and even does now but what about the whole time she ignored him like he was a pathetic nobody?
The whole hidden leaf village hated him, and insulted him and called him the "Kyuubi kid" even when he was near and could listen, but he still cares about them. I guess Naruto forgave all of them, including Sakura.
It's because she's cute, smart, and pretty strong. They are a fairly smart match, equal in social skills and attractiveness, but she's still in lala-land thinking she can get someone as good looking as Sasuke. But she's only 16 or 17. She'll be fine in a few years.

Secondly, after they were chosen as Team 7 and the moment he was "Sasuke", he figured out why he liked her... because she wanted to gain acknowledgement (this is the main point because that's something they first had in common) from one person... Sasuke. Naruto wanted to gain acknowledgement from anybody really. Plus, unlike the rest of the village Sakura (and quite a few of the other kids didn't know) didn't hate him as a demon but just as a regular human being.

After this, Naruto started to fall for her even more knowing her over the years. He came to understand Sakura as an individual and respecting her more and his feelings growing along with it, he came to know her good and bad traits and accepted them because that was who she was. Yet he still continued to love her no matter what and would do anything to protect her (which I think is really sweet).
Over the course of Sakura knowing Naruto, sure she wasn't the greatest person to Naruto by belittling him and all but really we have all done that to our friends and people in class we didn't like as kids. We didn't know any better and when people annoyed us, well we just act out that way without thinking about it twice. Yet, Sakura over the course of the years got to know Naruto better as a person and grew fond of him good ways and bad, starting out disliking him to friends to now I would say best friends. I personally don't want this thread to get into a NaruHina vs NaruSaku... seen way to many arguments about it. (Mostly bad arguments ._.;.)
Cos Naruto is racist and an idiot.. He didn't wanna date Hinata cos he thought she was weird with her byakugan. He didn't wanna date Ino cos he thought she was a blonde bimbo. He didn't wanna date Ten-ten cos he was scared of her (cos she's a solo queen). To him, Sakura was the most normal
oh so you did. but you completely ignore young sakura saving naruto's head from getting severed from zabuza sword, teaching naruto the fundamentals of chakra control, her wanting to protect naruto's hokage dream and prioritizing it over sasuke-kun and her own self in the written exam, pining him to the tree after orochimaru threw him to the ground, and defending him, sasuke and lee from the 3 sound nins.
That sorry excuse for a human ain't gonna get shi*. She had a a chance with Naruto and she rejected him. Sasuke rejected her so se ain't got nothing. NaruHina all the way!
