Attenuation from taking in the Juubi most likely. Something similar happened to Obito, but in his case, when he sealed, he was literally on his death bed. Hagoromo had it sealed in himself from his brother and Madara showed no problems when sealing the Juubi at all. The state in which one seals the Juubi probably dictates the amount of attenuation that happens to their hair.​
