Why does everyone say that Manga covers are canon and anime is not?

actually the anime is more cannon than manga because it is made after the time passes allowing them to correct the errors that occur

like raikage's arm in the manga before fighting madara he had both arms but in the anime they have corrected it he had only one

when kisame captured the 4 tails itachi had no lines on his face but in the anime episode he had them

the op is right

people who say that anime is not more cannon by your logic raikage should be able to switch from one hand to two and itachi from no lines to lines as they please

you have never seen orochimaru licking sasuke in a manga chapter yet you call it cannon that image is just for the looks like sasuke's susanoo being blue in a cover but cannon is purple

who do you know is they did not run out of purple and made it blue instead?

yet these mistakes get corrected by the time the volumes are released which comes out before the anime, the reason anime isnt canon is because of fillers why do you think filler characters never get mentioned

in the CANON logic, there are only 3 eye Dojutsu.. but in an anime episode , another one was created..

Read that definition there. Canon has nothing to do with continuity of stories, it's a standard that is used for judging the said story (or whatever you are reffering to). So, anime could very well be canon; however, many just choose not to say so because it is not a part of the Manga, which is somehow different because the pictures don't move, I guess.

But, by some odd logic, this is considered canon by people:

Saying that image is canon is like saying this one is.

An image that literally never happened in the story, and is just there to look cool. That piece of eye candy garbage that never took place in the manga once, is considered canon over the visual representation of the actual Manga. Ridiculous. Naruto's Rasenshuriken looks different there, but somehow it's canon even though multiple times in the Manga it's been shown larger.

Now I know what people will say; "But hey, Kishimoto has no influence over the Anime! That's why!"

To that I say this:

Where do you all pull that load of bullcrap? The magic book on everything Kishimoto?

It's only common sense to realize that the small team of people that make the anime call up Kishimoto to ask about how certain things should be represented. To say he has no input on the most popular portion of his franchise is idiotic.

That's not rasenshuriken , that's wind style : Rasengan . It's the thing he had before Rasenshuriken

For the most part the anime does things right, and canonly. But they do change things from the manga as well.

For instance, naruto has yellow chakra, yet he is always shown with blue chakra(and it was also said the color of ninjas chakra is different from one another)

Yet the studio made all chakra blue(except for tb chakra)

Is it a big issue? no. But little things can add up.

The only thing manga covers do to make anything canon, is clarify the colors. For instance, before the cover with madaras sussanoo, we had no idea what color his sussanoo was. The scenes on the covers, though are no more canon, than the chikaru arc in the anime.

Kishi does have some influence over the anime, but not a lot. Kishi is telling his story through his manga, not the anime that is based upon his work. They mostly go to him, for things like utakata, and ask him what jutsus he used, so they could get it right or their filler arc, and ask to make sure they can use a ability in a filler arc, that kishi wont use himself( such as cyrstal style etc)

Its not much of kishi telling them stuff.

Covers are used to depict the current theme of the story however it's not like they're drawing different characters just odd situations to symbolically show where the manga is going so logic would tell you if you have half a brain that the susanoo color is indeed canon and how kishi sees it when hes drawing it and the sasuke cover is an artistic potrayal to show sasuke joining orochimaru

yea every single anime episode is personally drawn by Kishi or he is in direct control over it

it's not like SEVERAL different studios produce the anime for him and we all know anything the creator of Naruto draws (like the cover art) or writes isn't canon

Its very simple: covers were made by Kishimoto, which is not the case with anime.
