Why do you like Jiraiya?

I am not too sure what's to really hate him about. I always did like that while he has a perverted nature, he knows when to be serious. He is the type that would actually bring forth a mature conversation if necessary. His dream on making everyone empathetic towards each other also make me respect him to an extent.

I wouldn't say he's a favourite of mine, but i don't dislike him in the slightest. He's a solid and entertaining character, not to mention one of the few untainted by the plot. He lived as he died - honorably. Jiraiya is also one of the main characters in the undoubtedly best arc in the entire Naruto series - Jiraiya/Naruto vs Pain and Sasuke vs Itachi.

Ah, not to mention i have a soft spot for father figures who aren't an actual parent of the protagonist. That's... kinda heartwarming.

Well, he has haters just as any other character does. They just aren't as vocal and aggressive as ones other characters have. Which is how people get the impression that he doesn't have an "anti" fandom... when in reality he does and it's a sizeable amount of people actually.

He's just a really good guy with hardly any negative traits. He's goofy and happy-go-lucky, but he's not annoying like Naruto and Hashirama. Like Transcendence said, he's one of the realer characters, he acts like an actual human.

I liked that he was a funny character but could become serious when necessary. He supported the next generation and was a caring person. Jiraiya took in Yahiko, Nagato and Konan even when they weren't members of his own village; he didn't even regret that decision when Nagato and Konan turned on him. Jiraiya had a very unique skill set, and his death was one of the most impactful in the manga.

True. He's not as mentioned as Naruto or Sasuke on these forums, so less comments are seen for him and therefore his haters can't get annoyed. Lol
