Well, technically it's because of sin. However, I believe that humanity has moved passed that, but because we never corrected it, it's still happening. You also need clothes for certain things, but I don't see the point in bathing suits at swimming pools and stuff. Bikinis don't cover anything, and dude's packages are hard to cover in most cases like that.
