I dont want any of them to die, to me the lack of deaths isn't a deal breaker. Some people are just used to gory mangas and expect the same from the shonen archetypes.

People dying in this arc hold significance. Naruto cannot protect everyone, and that would be added character development to people in the entire manga depending on the death, due to the death of any given character. Neji dying nearly destroyed Naruto's resolve and without Hinata, he would have gone to Obito's side. It's that kind of significance that the death's of characters can hold. The concept of war always breeds deaths of any accord. But this war hasn't had the "danger" factor that a war should have in relation to a characters level of safety. The K11 don't get enough panel time to either 1. Justify them dying out of nowhere and 2. Have enough exposure for their deaths to impact anything around them significantly, or at all. Neji was a good choice given the Part 1 stipulations surrounding him and Naruto, but besides Shikamaru and Sakura (and obviously Sasuke) the K11's relationship to Naruto, and to a lesser extent Sasuke are not enough to justify a reasonable response in response to a death. However, people like Kirabi, Tsunade, Kakashi, Gai etc. CAN. And them dying will pose a threat to the Alliance in terms of resources and their effects on the characters as a whole. Just depends on the course of the manga.
