There are these clusters of chromosomes in your body called "MHC" or the Major Histamine Complex. These control parts of your entire immune system and, inconspicuously, is the qualifications that your body unconsciously checks with your potential partner. MHC influences your body to fight off infection, and if both you and your partner's MHC structures are similar, the pregnancy of your child is less likely to succeed. Two diverse MHC structures means a more-diverse immune system for your child!! And your body is unconsciously trying to see if that MHC is good enough. How does this work? Your MHC is present in both your pheromones and saliva. To detect this, your partner has to be in close proximity to smell the MHC, as well as tasting the MHC through kissing. You could go through months of a relationship of someone having the same interests, and hobbies as you, but once kissing starts, if that MHC isn't diverse enough, you're probably not going to enjoy being in a romantic relationship with that person.
Science!
