I have every single chapter on my phone, but the Manga is more enjoyable reading it from an actual book.

I buy them because I like to have a physical copy on-hand whenever I feel like reading it. If I ever find myself with no internet for a day, I can breeze through a fair number of volumes to kill time. Plus, I'm supporting the series by purchasing volumes.

Although it's cheaper/free to read online, most manga sites usually suffer from crappy scans or weird translations.

I buy the manga because im supporting my favorite mangaka/manga
Also because the actual manga is the most accurate translation so that's a plus as well not to mention it looks better and the illustrations can be understood better

I'd buy a series once it is completed if I were to buy them.

Reading something from a book always feels just a little bit better than online for me... don't know why! Plus having that collection of pages feels like that little library (IDK, I like it). My brother has the Deathnote series which comes nicely packed!

So the idea of buying it as a collection is what's appealing to me!


The shortest way I guess I could explain it would be buying it is like having a momento of a great series.

Volumes are better quality, awesome covers, looks cool when you have a lot of them. And it supports your favorite mangaka.

But soon the mangs ending and I see no point in buying the volumes anymore.

I believe in supporting people who create work. As a writer I'd feel bad doing anything less than supporting someone after reading their work. I have all the volumes that have been released. That said I keep Naruto on the bottom shelf so when I have my girlfriend over she doesn't see it. Already got killed over having Naruto and Inuyasha dvds in my dvd collection.
