Why do the most popular characters have the most haters?

The very fact that those characters are polarising(aka they are loved or hated) shows that they well written. Bland/dull characters tend to be very "meh" in terms of reactions by fans.

Oh and also, sakura isn't well written-that's why she has more haters than fans.

To be more accurate Sakura isn't a well written main character but she is ok as a supporting character.

OT:In addition to what Mist said:Most of the haters hate a character coz that character is either better than his/her own fav or a competition to his/her fav character.
