Why Do So Many Awesome Characters Have to Die?

I have completed the whole part 1 and i am currently in season 5 of naruto shippuden.I have witnessed a lot of good characters dying or getting killed , and i have even found out more of then would die further into the series ( such as shizune). I feel very sad when this happens. Its just not fait :'(

Well, they wouldn't be as awesome and respected as they are now if they were still alive. People flock to liking deceased characters. xD

Without deaths, the series would not be as dramatic and realistic. It's a series about ninja fighting each other, so you'd expect a lot of characters to die.

I too regret the death of Asuma *probably the only being in Narutoverse to have a complete beard* He was so cool.. but damn Kishi got him killed.. Likewise Hayate

not enough have died. Too many OP villians have been killed off without taking out the GENNIN/CHUNNINwho defeated them.

Exhibit A: Entire Akatsuki except itachi&kisame (Pain got a little respect, at least, with his mass konoha genocide. but then he revived them like wtf...)
