Why do ppl underestimate jiraiya?

Do not pay attention to those people who are saying that kakashi will trash him, you will find in the base that most of the logical member accept that he can be a tough apponent if he gets real serious, and further more, People love him as a character not because of his power but his personality and gut's,and the way he lived and died, that's the true way how a worrior should live, I bet if you put up a poll asking what was the saddest death in naruto, most people will vote for Jiraiya, that's how awesome he was.

Sure he is not the strongest Shinobi in the Naruto, but if he get's real serious in a fight he can be one of the toughest person to kill, Pain had to attack him from behind and cut his hand off to win, and even in that situation he could have escaped if he wanted to,but he didin't that's what make's him epic,and pain was not able to lay a hand on him during the entire first round, that should be enough to prove that how strong he really is.

To make it short, There is no shame in liking Jiraiya actually he is one of the most likable person, Just do not go overboard and start pitting him against Edo Madara, or Hashi type of people and say he will wipe the floor with them, and you are fine.

ya , j-man is underrated.

i really liked him.
He is the only person who sealed amaterasu in his scroll.
and his jutsus are awesome.
i was so much impressed by him during pain's arc.
he went to rain village just like a true ninja...'
he is a true ninja and sensei of main character.

I don't know why he gets underestimated, i think he is awesome. He's my second favorite sannin after Orochimaru If he were to go up against Kakashi, i would definitely be rooting for Jiraya. He is super cool and funny ^^
