Why do people want Madara to turn good?

Seriously, and my question is more about people being kind of hypocritical about it. Like, so many people, so so many people were against Obito being redeemed because he had "done" so much evil, yet those same people are fine with Madara being redeemed.

Excuse me, have you all forgotten that Madara was far worse than Obito ever was? Has everyone seriously forgotten that Madara specifically went out of his way to turn a kind kid like Obito into a monster like Tobi? That'd be like forgiving the Emperor at the end of Star Wars, because, even though he turned Anakin into a monster, he wasn't evil in his mind. Seriously, I mean, Madara never even felt bad for what he's done, any of it.

At least Obito regretted it to the point that he happily accepted death, hell, it's implied that he was even against his actions while he was Tobi, hell, it's implied he'd have just committed suicide had it not been for Madara placing the puppet seal to prevent him from hurting himself. So why, again, does Madara get a freebie but Obito doesn't?

Why? Obito has the excuse that he was twisted to evil, like Nagato, and that on a subconscious level he knew what he was doing was wrong. Madara has no such excuse, he wasn't exactly twisted, he was more or less bitter, his brother's death isn't comparable to Yahiko or Rin's deaths because Izuna at least died like a warrior in a battle, the died as sacrifices in a cruel plot, not to mention, Madara had no one influencing his decisions like Obito and Nagato, he just decided on his own to do the things he did. Not to mention, it's pretty clear that once he started on his path, he never questioned it, and never felt bad over it either.

What you do wrong is that you treat fictional characters like real people, and thus apply real life morals and justice to them.

I for example like Madara as a character, I enjoy watching his screen time. At the same time, I'm very well aware that he's evil, and if he was a real person I'd probably not want anything to do with him.
However, I think that if Madara will turn good, it will be interesting to see how he will act. That is the reason that I prefer him to become good, rather than stupidly go against everyone knowing he won't even have a chance to win.
Especially after it is established that IT isn't what Madara thought it to be.
I like his badass attitude, and what I want to see is how he will act from then.


Also I never had any problem with Obito turning good. I think that Obito is one of the most misunderstood characters in this show, and many people are too immature to leave aside the rin stuff and look at the bigger picture.

Also the reason why Obito is so different than when he was Tobi, is because he was imitating Madara. Of course he'd have an entire different personality.
